Knott Mill Fair, Manchester, 1836
This annual carnival has been held during the past week, and we do not remember to have seen it more crowded than it was on Monday. The wet weather since served to damp the ardour of the seekers after pleasure; but still the proprietors of the various exhibitions seem to have had little occasion to complain of a paucity of visitors. There has been little of novelty in the amusements of the fair; but the limits to which it has been confined in former years have become too small for the shows, and a large plot of ground opposite the railway office, in Liverpool-road, has been used as the site of a splendid theatre, under the management of Mr. Holloway.

On the old site, the attractions held out by Mr. Ryan's really clever equestrian company, and beautiful stud of horses, have been quite irresistible; and his Circus, and Wombwell's excellent collection of wild beasts, have been crowded to overflowing.
